BIOGRAPHY

"…all is grist for the mill…"

Marcos Teira is not a typical guitarist and, of course, in a certain sense, no one really is…

Born in Galicia, Northern Spain, his first encounters with guitar as a teen were by way of rock and roll, but, quickly, his interests embraced all myriad of music that came his way.

Although he has built exposure to many genres of music throughout his tenured career, Flamenco has evolved to become the bedrock genre for Marcos in understanding his particular form of expression with the guitar.

Flamenco Translations is a phrase that describes the ideas and concepts that have defined his most recent projects.… An album and book have already been the fruit of this new thinking and now, a new album, conceived as a Trio for Guitar, Bass and Cajon, is soon to be released.

His attractive blend of Flamenco techniques and Western European and American chords and melodies have wowed audiences in Spain and South America. And he is now keen to bring his voice to new international audiences.
